TAMARAC, FL, January 25, 2024 – Gurkha Cigar Group International, a name synonymous with luxurious cigar experiences, has proudly announced the launch of its Year of the Dragon 2024 collection. This special series, inspired by the Chinese Zodiac, brings an exclusive and sophisticated flair to the cigar aficionado’s world.
Debuting at the 2023 PCA Convention, the Year of the Dragon collection made an immediate impact. Featuring 1500 limited-edition boxes, each is a masterpiece with its red piano finish and stunning gold dragon motifs. Within these boxes, cigar lovers will discover 15 expertly crafted Figurado (6 3/4×52) cigars, a result of Gurkha’s collaboration with El Artista in the Dominican Republic. These quickly sold-out editions were just a hint of the grand plans Gurkha had for celebrating the Year of the Dragon.
Gurkha has raised the bar in the cigar industry by partnering with Cigar Snob Magazine for a series of unique releases throughout 2024. This innovative project is a first for Gurkha, involving collaborations with five distinct manufacturers to create a series that unfolds over the year. Each box is not only a repository for premium cigars but also a collector’s treasure, symbolizing the essence of the Year of the Dragon 2024.
The series begins with a striking 15-count Ferrari red box, showcasing two dragons and housing cigars crafted alongside El Artista Cigar Factory. The journey continues with a diverse array of collaborations: a 10-count box pressed cigar by AJ Fernandez in a commemorative green box; a 10-count black box with a toro cigar by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo; a vibrant orange box containing a 6 1/2×60 Figurado cigar by Oliva Cigar Company; and culminating with a 6×52 toro cigar in a yellow box by Oscar Valladares.
Further elevating the excitement, Gurkha will introduce a 200-count humidor at the PCA show in March. Jim Colucci, President of Gurkha Cigars, describes this as a breathtaking collection of Year of the Dragon memorabilia, with each box doubling as a desktop humidor.
“Our longstanding Dragon trademark symbolizes luxury and distinction,” Colucci comments. “This new collection is our homage to this legacy, marking a significant moment in the Year of the Dragon.”
Juan Lopez, VP of Sales, shares his enthusiasm, “This project is more than just a series of releases; it’s an ambitious collaboration with industry giants. We are eager to present this unique collection to the cigar world.”
Anticipation is high for the full Year of the Dragon release in 2024. With only 2,000 boxes per release, aficionados are advised to secure their collections early.
Gurkha Cigars, renowned for its premium quality and exclusivity, offers an impressive range of brands to suit every palate, solidifying its status as a global leader in the cigar industry.
